I wrote this poem on April 23, 2011. I wrote this at the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Easter concert (note: that was name of the choir at the time of this concert; the name of the choir is now the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square). They sang a beautiful, haunting, and powerful requiem composed in a far away time. Later, they sang beautiful, triumphant praises that soulfully sailed through the air. Here is my poem.
Easter Voices
Oh Lord,
I hear the
solemn
reverential
sound of the angelic choir
singing at Thy crucifixion.
Their voices sail out of
Heaven down through
the clouds like thunder
to condemn the people
who crucified Thee.
The voices of these angels also
sing praises and thanksgiving.
For Thy death brought life.
Thy life's purpose was death.
In Three days time
Thou will be resurrected.
Oh Lord,
I hear the
magnificent
triumphant
sound of the angelic choir
singing at Thy resurrection.
There voices burst forth
out of the clouds like
rays of the sun as
thou bursts out of the
tomb and ascend to Heaven.
The voices of these angels
are loud and joyous and
can be heard by the
righteous everywhere!
Thou has overcome death!
Thou art resurrected!
singing at Thy resurrection.
There voices burst forth
out of the clouds like
rays of the sun as
thou bursts out of the
tomb and ascend to Heaven.
The voices of these angels
are loud and joyous and
can be heard by the
righteous everywhere!
Thou has overcome death!
Thou art resurrected!
